Project Description
In 2016 Pirate Monkey was approached by the committee of Horton and Chalbury Village Hall, a fantastic rural community village hall in Dorset, with a picturesque view of Horton Tower.
The brief was to provide a website that they could maintain themselves, especially important as they have a very busy schedule of events to keep up to date. It was also recognised that the hall needed an identity that people could instantly associate with to help raise the profile of the facility.
Another key item on the list was the ability to see the halls availability through an online calendar or booking system, as it was realised during one of our discovery sessions that many visitors came to the site to find out the availability and download the booking forms.
Pirate Monkey delivered a modern fully responsive (i.e. it works on all screen sizes) WordPress website, with built in Google calendar synchronisation to display the latest availability, an events calendar that automatically displays the next few events on the front page for maximum engagement, and an interactive floor plan so potential users of the hall can quickly discover the layout, room sizes and facilities available.
Pirate Monkey also designed a modern brand including logo and colours to really lift the visibility of the hall.
